A viral post reports that someone's boyfriend downloaded a Minecraft mod for Hypixel SkyBlock on ChatGPT's recommendation — and it was malware, costing him his account.
The case sparks discussion of AI-recommended supply-chain poisoning: another developer chimes in that Claude similarly tried installing ffmpeg from a sketchy fork while setting up a VM. When poisoned repos or社区 recommendations seep into training data, LLM recommendations can become a new attack surface for malware delivery.
