Hermes Agent bug: installer forces main branch on stable installs, rollbacks read as updates

User versun filed issue #137714 against NousResearch's hermes-agent: the macOS Hermes-Setup installer hardcodes branch: Some("main") and checks out origin/main regardless of the configured channel: stable in /.hermes/config.yaml.
Consequences:
- Existing stable checkouts (e.g. pinned to v0.21.7) get force-forwarded to main;
- Both sourcecheck and the Desktop UI misread version rollbacks as available updates.
The issue is labeled P2 (degraded but workaround exists) and touches the installer, CLI, and Electron desktop components.
