ChatGPT sidebar silently caps chat list: account with 10,500 chats only shows 775

The team behind the AI Toolbox browser extension found that ChatGPT's sidebar chat list silently stops at an undocumented cap on large accounts — one account with 10,500 chats only ever listed 775, and not even the newest ones. The list just ends with no error or "load more". Missing chats still exist and open fine via direct links; you just can't scroll to them.
Free workaround: ChatGPT's own search (Ctrl+K) covers the full history, so searching a keyword retrieves them. Their extension's Deep Import uses the same search to recover skipped chats into folders, search and exports — checking for missing chats is free, recovery is Premium, and it runs slowly in the background to avoid rate limits (desktop Chromium only).
