Intel details GPU D-series: 480GB memory, 1.3 PFLOPS FP8 for AI inference economics
AIFlow_ML · x · 2026-10-13
At the OCP Global Summit, Intel shared new details on its GPU D-series (formerly Crescent Island): built on Xe3P, with up to 480GB LPDDR5X, 1.5TB/s memory bandwidth and 1.3 petaflops of FP8 compute, aimed at improving the economics of memory-intensive sustained AI inference. Intel also introduced new Xeon-based rack designs and open software stack, arguing agentic AI turns inference into multi-step workflows where x86 CPUs play a central role and heterogeneous open infrastructure is key to scaling under power and cost constraints.
