Open-source desktop agent dodaios runs local Qwen models via ollama — and shows where 16GB models fail
InternationalGap3698 · reddit · 2026-10-13
dodaios (formerly Personal Jarvis) is an Apache 2.0 open-source desktop agent app for Windows/macOS/Linux with no cloud between you and your models: per-agent chat/tools/memory/schedules, an agentic IDE running nine coding CLIs side by side, fully offline voice (local whisper + piper), computer use, a local wiki as memory, and 40+ plugins/MCP servers. In a real recording on an RTX 5070 Ti 16GB, ollama-hosted qwen3.5:9b and qwen3.8 completed small jobs in 71s/116s — but both local models failed at self-scheduling tool calls that hosted models handle. Architecture: FastAPI + React + pywebview, pluggable model providers, an event bus with trace IDs and flight recorder replay, four-level risk checks, OS credential store for keys. A one-person project with 5,900 commits. Repo: github.com/Dodaios/Dodaios
