Open-source Tortoise generator turns fractal tori into eye-and-arm art via Three.js and ControlNet
Deep_World_4378 · reddit · 2026-10-13
A developer open-sourced Tortoise, a generator for toroidal fractal structures, now with a "phenomenology" mode that swaps fractal sub-tori for 3D models like eyes, heads and snakes, and lines for arms or serpents.
The workflow: build a fractal torus in Three.js with Claude's help, expose each torus parameter as a control, then add ControlNet + Stability API image generation for any pose. The latest iteration adds 3D model substitution for parts of the torus.
Both an online generator and a GitHub repo are available.
