Causality researcher launches Aether AI, unveils CRIS-0 robotics system built on causal reasoning

With over a decade of causality research behind her, huangbiwei argues that scaling has made models great at pattern-spotting and next-token prediction, but physical-world systems need causal reasoning: predicting consequences before acting, checking outcomes, and adapting when reality diverges—since trial and error in the real world is costly and early mistakes propagate.
On that thesis she founded Aether AI, starting with robotics and building CRIS-0 as its first integrated system. The resharing poster highlights a subtle causality detail: "empty" vs. "unfinished" are different labels, and that distinction changes the next move.
