Pedro Domingos: Machine learning will swallow everything built on top of it

Noted ML researcher and author Pedro Domingos offered a terse take: anything built on top of machine learning will eventually be swallowed by machine learning itself.
The implication is that middleware, wrappers, and products layered over ML models get absorbed into model capabilities as models improve, displacing the layers above them.
