Inside TDA's math distillation challenge: CloudMatrix sweeps all four tracks with perfect scores
机器之心 · wechat · 2026-10-13
The SAIR Foundation co-founded by Terence Tao announced Stage 2 results of its Mathematics Distillation Challenge: out of 294 teams, CloudMatrix's yanbiao.ai lab scored a perfect 200 on all four tracks (Solo/Marathon), topping the board at 221 points. The rules demand Lean4 formal proofs for valid implications and counterexamples otherwise — verifiability over answer rates. The team also posted a paper introducing rank-decreasing sparse trace-tree magmas, producing infinite countermodels that establish 28 new order-5 Austin classifications for previously unclassified equations, with 636 Lean4 certificates all accepted. On the Research Leaderboard it scored 17 vs 3 for second place. In an interview, chief AI scientist Miao Xu describes compressing a proof graph of billions of Lean lines into 500KB of Python and plans to extend formal verification from math to experimental sciences.
