Workflow: Using Claude Opus 5.5 to edit videos — nail the first 15s, then iterate
dotey · x · 2026-10-13
A detailed hands-on workflow for video editing with Claude Opus 5.5:
- Prep is everything: organize the narration script, reference clips and storyboard notes in a Feishu doc; add visual style reference images to avoid Claude's design homogenization.
- Stage the edit: have Opus polish only the first 15 seconds with focus on visuals and animation — repeatedly better than one-shot full edits.
- Feedback loop: collect team comments (screenshot + timecode table) in a doc and let Claude read and fix them itself; 1-2 rounds suffice.
- Voiceover: Gemini 3.8 Flash TTS sounded too different from the author's tone, so self-recording won; TTS quality is otherwise good.
- Tooling: install Feishu CLI for frequent doc interaction — just ask Claude to do it.
