Claude Code Max 20x stress test: 21.4B tokens/week vs Codex's 300-800M
Glittering_Poem_4755 · reddit · 2026-10-13
A week-long stress test of Claude Code Max 20x hit 95% of the weekly limit after consuming 21.4 billion tokens on pure Opus 5.5 (50 sessions, 56k messages), confirmed by ccusage. By comparison, the $200 Codex plan on 6 Astra yields only 300-800M tokens, less after recent usage updates. The author concedes tokens are an imperfect metric across differently efficient models, but found real-world throughput and performance on Claude far better — rare hard data in the subscription-value debate.
