React dev poteto: writing is thinking, so I never let agents write for me
andfanilo · x · 2026-10-13
React core team developer poteto says he never lets AI agents write for him—not docs, tweets, shitposts, or even prompts. His reason: writing is thinking, a skill he refuses to give up, and he wants everything he says to stay authentic, mistakes included.
He adds that this discipline likely makes him better at prompting: expressing intent clearly and knowing the right vocabulary is what makes agent usage effective, much like engineers have an edge directing agents to write code.
