Open-source unwalled turns any website or database into agent tools, cutting logged-in task steps by half

The developer behind Korro AI released unwalled, an open-source universal MCP server that connects AI agents to websites, apps, files and databases that lack APIs or MCP servers.
How it works:
- Point it at a website, app, file, or database.
- For websites it opens a real browser; you log in and click around while it records the underlying requests ("get order 1042", "search for X").
- Those requests become tools your agent can call, already authenticated.
After that, agents skip the browser and get data in one call. Supported sources include sites behind logins, legacy sites without APIs (returned as clean data), Excel/CSV/JSON/SQLite files, PostgreSQL/MySQL (read-only), OpenAPI/Postman/cURL specs, mobile and desktop apps via traffic recording, and WebSocket/MQTT feeds.
Benchmarked against a browser agent with the same model: on logged-in sites it needed 3–4 steps instead of 8–9 at roughly half the cost; on simple public pages a browser does just as well. Install with npx -y unwalled; passwords are encrypted and only sent to the site they belong to.
