Google released Google AI Edge Foresight, an experimental Labs Mac app that listens to meetings, expands your quick bullets into full notes, and answers questions from local files — with audio, transcripts and files staying on-device, no cloud fees, and offline support.
Key details:
- Captures mic and system audio; works for video calls or in-room meetings
- Split-screen layout with your notes and generated notes, plus full transcript access
- Gemma 4 generates answers; EmbeddingGemma 2 (740M params, Gemma 4 architecture, Apache 2.0) handles local retrieval across PDFs, Docs, Office, Markdown and bookmarks
- 191MB active memory for quantized text weights on Pixel 11 Pro, 567MB full; optimized for Apple Silicon
Privacy is the pitch: notes that stay on the machine feel more trustworthy.
