jd_pressman to Richard Ngo: MacAskill's opinion on AI doesn't matter, would SBF have skipped Anthropic?
jd_pressman · x · 2026-10-12
jdpressman counters Richard Ngo: whether MacAskill took time to come around on AI doesn't matter, because MacAskill is (in his words) a coward whose opinion fundamentally doesn't matter—his involvement in AI is a rounding error. He then makes it concrete, asking whether Ngo's position implies that SBF—a weird rat who rejects the Kelly Criterion and holds strange Yuddite heresies about YOLO-ing a universe-destroying coin flip on anthropic grounds—would not have invested in Anthropic had rats been less taboo-averse.
