User says Claude charged his card, demanded government ID, then blocked him
EfficientOrdinary659 · reddit · 2026-10-12
A Reddit user claims that after paying for Claude Pro, he was asked for a face photo, then a selfie holding his government ID via third-party service Persona (which works with Palantir). He refused; Anthropic allegedly blocked his access despite having charged his card. He says posts about it were removed from r/ClaudeAI and r/Anthropic. The thread raises privacy concerns around Anthropic's identity-verification anti-abuse flow.
