Hermes Agent spots overpaying, reroutes to a model 57% cheaper and self-schedules weekly price checks
shensi · x · 2026-10-12
Andy Gaukrodger's Hermes Agent, while fixing a broken vision tool (404), found a genuinely free vision model on Nous, then noticed he was overpaying for his most-used model. It rerouted him to a path 57% cheaper and built itself a weekly cron job that emails a digest of the cheapest DeepSeek-class models across provider price lists. He published the full how-to and skill for reproducing this agent self-auditing workflow.
