Half of a study's 1,168-row dataset are duplicated observations, replication watchdog finds
RexDouglass · x · 2026-10-12
Replication watchdog I4Replication flagged a research data file of 1,168 rows (participant IDs 1–1,168) in which rows 1–584 are almost identical to rows 585–1,168 — half the data are duplicated observations. An annotated screenshot of CRAVEBRAZIL.xlsx shows the first 10 duplicate pairs color-matched, with data unedited except for an added "ID modulo 584" column and re-ordering, raising serious concerns about the study's data integrity.
