Hacker 'wenhao' claims breach of 6.8M Dominican Republic citizen records
TechNadu · x · 2026-10-12
A threat actor known as "wenhao" claims to have stolen 6.8M+ citizen records and 5.6M ID photos (20.7 GB) from the Dominican Republic's Junta Central Electoral registry, including cédula numbers, names, birth dates, marital status and blood types. Samples were posted on a dark web forum, but the breach remains unverified; the JCE denied a similar claim in August.
