tACS tuning brain alpha rhythms reduces illusory speech percepts in McGurk effect
AnnaCiaunica · x · 2026-10-12
A preprint from IIT Jodhpur researchers on bioRxiv shows tACS at and around a person's Individual Alpha Frequency (IAF) reduces illusory /ta/ percepts in the McGurk effect (n=27) while leaving congruent syllables intact. A Kuramoto model offers a mechanistic account of the neuromodulatory behavioral changes.
