ARTISAN: Multi-Agent Pipeline Generates Physically Grounded Articulated 3D Assets with New Benchmark

Researchers from NTU, ETH Zurich, and Oxford introduce ARTISAN, a multi-agent pipeline (Design, Coding, Review agents) for generating articulated 3D assets grounded in physics, plus a unified benchmark.
- Assets carry part-level mass, materials, joint limits, dynamics, and inertia; simulation detects collisions and instability and guides repairs.
- Versus the best baselines: single-joint collision rate drops from 31.2% to 1.7% (-94.6%), rest-state stability rises from 86% to 98%, and human first-choice preference jumps from 21.1% to 43.3%.
- The benchmark evaluates 10+ models across appearance, articulation, physics, robot tasks, and human preference; code and datasets are open-sourced.
