Researcher warns LLM-written paper sections signal low contribution and erode team work ethics
zouharvi · x · 2026-10-12
ML researcher Vitou (zouharvi) criticized teammates who draft paper sections directly with LLMs. He argues it usually just creates extra work for reviewers to make sense of the text — a burden senders don't realize — and at worst signals to others that this level of contribution is acceptable, degrading team work ethics. He concedes it's occasionally useful but is broadly against it.
