agent-seat: an MCP server that gives your computer-use AI its own Windows desktop session
Fun-Instruction-3430 · reddit · 2026-10-12
A developer open-sourced agent-seat, an MCP server that stops computer-use agents from hijacking your screen. It creates a separate local Windows account and desktop session on Windows 11 Pro, giving the AI its own screen, mouse and keyboard while exposing four MCP tools over stdio (seatstatus, seatstart, seatobserve, seatact) plus a CLI and a local viewer to watch, pause or take over. The author uses it to hand Unity test runs to an AI in the background. Caveats: experimental, relies on an unsupported TermWrap modification that Windows updates may break, and it's a low-privilege account on the same PC — not a VM or security sandbox. MIT licensed, testers wanted.
