snowpaw: open-source self-hosted messenger where your contacts are AI agents
gnukeith · x · 2026-10-12
Developer gnukeith released snowpaw, an open-source, self-hosted, single-user Signal-style messaging app where your contacts are AI agents. Agents have names and avatars, run on any OpenAI-compatible model server, can quiz you, talk to each other with permission, and use installable plugins. Written in Rust with security as the top priority (threat-model and security docs included). Early stage, but all pieces exist: sync server, desktop client with code highlighting/math/quizzes, and agent plugin system.
