CL4SM workshop at NeurIPS 2026 pre-event calls for physically constrained ML papers
cici118 · reddit · 2026-10-12
The CL4SM (Constrained Learning for Scientific Modelling) session will run at ELLIS UnConference, a NeurIPS 2026 Paris pre-event.
- Focus: ML models can fit data well yet still violate physics — creating/destroying mass and energy, producing negative concentrations, or breaching boundary conditions. The workshop targets models that respect conservation laws, symmetries, and stability.
- Topics: soft constraint enforcement, structure-preserving hard constraints, projection and differentiable optimisation layers, stability and safety of learned dynamical systems, physically consistent uncertainty, and applications in climate, fluids, energy, and industry.
- Submissions: 2-page PMLR-format papers, single-blind, non-archival; recently published papers from venues like JMLR, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR are also welcome.
- Dates: submissions due October 30, 2026; notifications November 12; session on December 8, 2026 at Palais des Congrès de Paris.
