Claude ports Crash Team Racing natively to the New 3DS with stereoscopic 3D

Developer zando95 used Claude to port Crash Team Racing natively to the 12-year-old New 3DS, including stereoscopic 3D, building on the ctr-native decomp. Claude wrote a new renderer for the shader-less 3DS GPU, merged 300–700 draw calls per frame down to 20, mapped the PS1's 24 voices onto the 3DS DSP, and even fixed a 1999 tire-reflection bug. The workflow: the author playtested on real hardware while Claude drove the Azahar emulator via screenshots and simulated inputs, and used a text file on the SD card as a Wi-Fi debug console for on-device A/B testing, with CLAUDE.md carrying state across sessions.
