A layered personal AI stack: coding agents build tools for the other agents
Sufficient_Flower860 · reddit · 2026-10-12
A Reddit user shares their AI stack organized by layer, not by app:
- Foundation: Claude Code and Codex side by side; Fable plans, GPT-5.6 Terra reviews, looping to produce the final plan, with Opus 5.5 managing it. Cursor and OpenCode Go own different work packages. When Claude bans the account, Codex carries the work for days.
- Hands & infra: Grok Bot + Muse for chores (hard calls escalate to the foundation); 10+ self-built Feishu bots starting with an approval bot from February; OpenClaw with GPT-5.6-Terra watching 4 servers, where a pre-tool hook blocks rm -rf until manual approval; Gemini via Google One Pro for drafts; Tailscale between machines and Oracle Cloud free tier (4 OCPU / 24 GB) as a steady home.
Their point: most AI stack lists are flat, but this one has layers — the coding agents build the tools the other agents use.
