StoryCAD 4.3 launches Collaborator AI assistant in free beta for fiction writers

StoryCAD, outlining software for fiction writers, released version 4.3 on October 2, adding Collaborator, an optional AI assistant now in a free beta capped at roughly 25-30 testers.
- How it works: you pick one small job — turning a story idea into a premise, or filling in a character's flaw and backstory — and Collaborator reads the relevant story elements, then suggests text for specific fields and waits for you.
- Workflows: the 30 smaller workflows teased in March were consolidated into 12, organized like the manual's outlining lessons: Ideation, Story Problem, Character Builder, Flaw and Backstory, Setting Builder, Scene Builder, and more.
- Other changes: a new Collaborator manual chapter, outline gaps showing what your story still needs, screen-reader accessibility names, and bug fixes. Windows now, Mac coming soon.
Collaborator lives on the toolbar and is entirely optional — StoryCAD works exactly as before if you never click it.
