Codex runs tests obsessively while Claude is faster — two coding agents, different personalities
haider1 · x · 2026-10-12
A clear pattern from comparing Codex and Claude Code: Codex tends to run lots of tests — it usually finishes the main task in a few minutes, then spends the rest of its time running tests, and even tests for those tests.
That makes Claude models better for vibe coding and one-shotting (faster), while Codex is more resilient.
