Show HN: BraiNOTES, open-source handwritten notes on PDFs fully in the browser
swimmingbrain · hn · 2026-10-12
BraiNOTES is a static, backend-free web app for handwritten notes on lecture PDFs: perfect-freehand vector ink with pressure support, pdf.js rendering in a worker, IndexedDB autosave, and exportable .brainotes files (zip of per-page JSON + PDFs). No account, no analytics, fully offline and local-first. Study mode puts PDFs beside notes; Board mode is a whiteboard with laser pointer. MIT-licensed and open source.
