johnvmcdonnell argues AI outputs are far easier to verify empirically (e.g. clinical trials) than by analytically reproducing the reasoning in human-understandable form, so we'll rely on the former. He adds mathematicians' discomfort with accepting empirics at face value may be a real contribution going forward.
