Le Monde: OpenAI sat on math release for months and formed a math advisory group
basedjensen · x · 2026-10-12
Per Le Monde, OpenAI deliberately delayed the release of its 700+ AI-generated math manuscripts and formed an independent Advisory Group on Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence to 'serve as a bridge to the mathematical community.'
The attempt is seen as sincere but with mixed results: Fields medallist Hugo Duminil-Copin wept over the release, showed an AI-generated slide of a rabbit crushed by trucks, and said the company 'wanted to prove they could massacre us.'
