Leverage = capability x concurrency x duty cycle: the overlooked bet in AI agents
nbaschez · x · 2026-10-12
adhamelarabawy argues the industry over-invests in model capability and under-invests in making models ambient. His frame: leverage ≈ capability × concurrency × duty cycle. Concurrency and capability are entangled with a use-case-specific bus factor, while duty cycle is largely unconsidered — smoothing inference peaks with predictable offline workloads is a strong infra-level bet (e.g. sailresearchco), but application- and model-level plays are rare.
