Vik Paruchuri launches OmniParseBench to make OCR postprocessing unnecessary
VikParuchuri · x · 2026-10-11
Vik Paruchuri (of Marker fame) announces OmniParseBench, a benchmark aiming to make postprocessing unnecessary for document parsing models.
He explains the problem: formatting conventions in test sets often mismatch model output in OCR, so models get judged on conventions they don't use, and differing levels of postprocessing make comparisons unfair. More updates to come.
