Fellowship Trust published "Moments in the History of Images: How Text-to-Image Models Changed Image-Making," tracing the field from Elman Mansimov's 2015 alignDRAW paper to DALL·E's 2021 turning point—when artists could generate images almost instantly via prompts instead of training GANs for days, opening new experimentation loops.
Today systems like Stable Diffusion, Midjourney, FLUX, Adobe Firefly, Google Imagen, Nano Banana, Ideogram, Recraft, ByteDance Seedream and OpenAI GPT Image produce highly realistic images from a few words. The attached image is an AI-generated collage-style artwork.
