Vitalik x Balaji fireside: LLMs replace textbooks, network school expands to Kazakhstan
devanshmehta · x · 2026-10-11
A recap of the Vitalik–Balaji fireside chat: Vitalik calls LLMs "smarter bots" and says he's stopped reading textbooks, instead learning by debating an LLM until he can restate concepts uncorrected. Balaji argued most people don't keep scorecards on governments, and touted network school's Kazakhstan partnership (university credentials, offline exams feeding job placements, REIT-based real estate tokenization) plus its "minimum necessary Balaji" succession model. Vitalik quipped Ethereum is decentralizing too, as Justin Drake now angers people nearly as much as he does.
