opencode bug: tool-result compressor mints dead pointers, destroying large outputs
darkhipo · ghdev · 2026-10-11
A GitHub issue against opencode v2.0.19 reports that the execute-runtime tool-result compressor replaces results over 400B with opaque <<ccr:...>> pointers whose payloads are never persisted — the author probed opencode.db, mimocode.db and tool-output directories and found zero rows/files for live pointer IDs, and no tool can redeem them. In long sessions the destroyed content is precisely the large outputs like logs and receipts, making compression destructive rather than a deferral. Suggested fix: write through to a file with an inlined path or expose a redemption tool.
