Developer recreates classic game Faxanadu with LLMs to probe their limits
zeeg · x · 2026-10-11
Developer zeeg shared a tribute project to the classic side-scroller Faxanadu, built mostly to see what LLMs are capable of. What began as a full recreation with slightly varied lore and maps kept growing beyond expectations. Since many of his friends never played the original, he sought feedback from someone intimately familiar with it and is pushing out a Japanese translation to make the demo more accessible.
