ComfyUI Manager security block breaks custom node installs, weak setting no longer works

After updating to recent ComfyUI versions, the author found ComfyUI Manager's Security Level blocking nearly all custom node installs. Setting securitylevel = weak in config.ini no longer works, forcing manual git clones and per-node maintenance.
This suggests the security mechanism changed in newer releases, and the old config approach is obsolete. The post asks the community for the correct way to adjust or disable the block in current versions.
