Patrick Collison and Tyler have published the list of 28 recipients of the New Aesthetics grants, after applications flooded in and had to be closed within weeks.
- The program backs artists pushing past the current aesthetic moment: many applicants voiced strong dissatisfaction with the status quo, and both unapologetic beauty and channeling pre-modern styles into the present era appear to be gaining ground.
- Grantees span architects, painters, an indie publisher, software artists, and projects like AI-designed Delft tiles (Not Quite Past).
