FAI bans AI-generated writing for publication, citing internal comms slop
sethlazar · x · 2026-10-10
Future of AI (FAI) published its AI policy: staff are encouraged to use AI tools fully for research, ideation, typo-checks, and microsites—but no writing for publication may be AI-generated.
@sethlazar adds another reason: AI-written internal comms produce slop rollouts—like asking colleagues to read a five-page memo the author never read themselves—wasting time and signaling disregard for it. An admirable stance, he argues, that more publications should hold the line on.
