MacroPolo's Global AI Talent Tracker 2.0, sampling NeurIPS 2022 authors (2,671 papers, 25.6% acceptance rate vs 1,428 and 21.6% in 2019), finds researchers educated in China make up a huge share of the US's elite AI research talent, underscoring how fierce global competition for AI talent has become as capital and talent pour into real-world AI applications.
