Stewart Alsop III dug up a tweet of his from 2022 in which he set himself the goal of learning "just enough to get Copilot and GPT to code for me" — roughly two years before Karpathy popularized the term vibe coding. He claims this makes him one of the earliest practitioners, and argues that vibe coding is indeed a skill, "a very very weird skill."
