Musk: The future currency will be wattage, not dollars
XFreeze · x · 2026-10-10
Elon Musk argues the future currency will essentially be wattage — measured not in dollars but by how much power can be converted into useful work: intelligence or matter manipulation.
His reasoning: once superintelligence, robots, solar energy, and chip manufacturing scale into a self-sustaining loop, conventional money becomes secondary. What ultimately matters is wattage (power) and tonnage (mass) — an economy measured by the physical capabilities of civilization rather than currency.
