NYU professor Jeff Sebo received three extremely realistic phishing attempts in one day — all from hacked or spoofed NYU addresses, with contextually relevant content and standard institutional fonts, colors and logos. He argues society should de-emphasize links in email, since declining a journal's review invite shouldn't require clicking a link and logging in when convincing phishing is trivially easy.
