Prompting frontier LLMs to estimate probability of classical breaks in ECDSA and Dilithium
rickasaurus · x · 2026-10-10
The author crafted a structured prompt asking frontier models (Sol and Fable) for subjective probabilities that a classical algorithm could reduce ECDSA/EdDSA and Dilithium/ML-DSA security from (b) bits to (b/2), (b/3), or (b/4), using deployed parameter sizes, output as a table with point estimates and uncertainty ranges. Admittedly "just vibes," but a neat experiment in structured probabilistic elicitation from LLMs.
