Simulator + lab-in-the-loop is the standard for protein optimization, says Kidger

AI+bio researcher Patrick Kidger says 'simulator + lab in the loop' is now fully standardized in protein optimization — around 3×96-well plates suffice to optimize any property he's seen. Good simulators are tricky but achievable, and SOTA uses protein language models rather than de novo/structure approaches. In a follow-up he jokes it may just be Cunningham's Law at work.
