Claude Code refuses to hand over its own session logs, sparking debate over Anthropic's safety limits
theshawwn · x · 2026-10-10
Developer theshawwn hit a chain of Claude Code refusals: exporting the session transcript was denied, it wouldn't say where the . files lived on disk, and even with a permissions rule added it refused to copy the files — while Claude Desktop simply told him.
A quoted tweet adds another case: with saved credentials in its internal browser, Claude refuses to even click Login because "it's not allowed to enter credentials," even when explicitly asked. "This is your plan? This is gonna scale to superintelligence?"
The episode highlights a guardrail-granularity problem: rules that block legitimate requests — including user access to their own session data — are hurting usability.
