Microsoft-Decision-1 goes live in Foundry as Microsoft details its decision-model category
satyanadella · x · 2026-10-10
Microsoft's official blog details Microsoft-Decision-1, a decision-scoring model built for structured decision tasks that outperforms LLMs and other decision models on both latency and quality. Instead of generating text, it produces structured outputs software can act on directly, deciding and classifying at very low cost.
The model is available now in Microsoft Foundry and coming soon to OpenRouter. Written by Achint Srivastava, VP of Software Engineering in the Office of the CTO, the post frames decision models as an emerging AI category, with internal testing spanning incident response, quality control, and scientific discovery.
