Free-Tier Limit Popup Closed Itself and ChatGPT Kept Working, User Reports
Maybe_WeAre · reddit · 2026-10-10
A free-tier user reports that while using ChatGPT to fix CSS, the expected "come back in a few hours" usage-limit popup appeared—then closed itself, and ChatGPT resumed and continued the task as if nothing happened. The popup never returned, and the user kept working in the same window for hours. "Pretty cool for me, but also a little freaked out." A single anecdotal observation, cause unknown and unverified.
